GAME RULES and GOALS

Each level has a certain amount of points you need to gather in order to complete it. This amount will be shown in the bottom left side of your screen, next to the star icon. To gather points you need to get close enough to the bright little stars you'll find along the levels so that they enter your zapper's range. Once they do, your zapper will automatically blast them away and convert them to points.

The more points to gather, the more your grow. The more you grow, the heavier you get, making you harder to be pushed around by physics mechanisms such as jumppads, air vents and vortexes. The down side to this is that you'll also jump less because of your increased weight. For this reason you might find yourself in situations where you won't be able to reach certain places because you've gotten to big and can't jump that far, so a good idea in certain levels is to get to the more remote places first and go for the easiest picks later.

If you don't want to grow as you gather more points you can always turn this feature off by unchecking the checkbox on the left side of the level selection dialog. If you do this, you will maintain your size and weight for the entire duration of the level but you won't receive any upgrade points the level has to offer.

Upgrade points are exactly what they sound like : points that will allow you to buy improvements for your marble or buy another skin from the wide selection the game has to offer. You can customize the look and feel of your marble at any point in the game, even in the middle of a level, to adjust yourself for the particular task at hand.

MULTIPLAYER GAMES

Hosting a multiplayer game

To host a multiplayer game all you have to do is run the game launcher and go to the Server Options tab. You'll find a few fields that you'll need to complete : the name of your server, the master password and how many players should your sever allow. The master password is an important field and we recommend that you set one and use it in the game. Being the server master will provide you with a lot of interesting tools, like the ability to add AI controlled marbles to spice up the game when there are only a few human players. You could even play by yourself and add AI enemies this way.

After you have filled in the information, all you need to do is press the "Start the server" button. In Windows you'll notice a new window will open up where you'll be able to see information about the server. In MacOS the server will display its information inside the special area of the Server options tab. To stop the server, under Windows all you have to do is close its window and under MacOS just press the Stop button.

Connecting to a multiplayer game

To connect to a multiplayer game, first start the game and bring up the main menu by pressing ESC. Go to the Multiplayer menu and there, along with several other instructions, you'll find three methods of connecting to an already created server.

"Connect to LAN game" is the quickest way to connect to your own server or a server that you know for sure is running on your Local Area Network. Just click it and it will instantly connect you to the running server.

"Connect to IP" does exactly what its name suggests. It will ask you for the IP address of the server that you want to connect to. Enter it in and designated area and then click "Connect to server".

"Server browser" is the way to go when you want to play a multiplayer game with someone outside of your LAN and who's IP address you don't know or if you just want to find all the multiplayer games active around the world at that specific moment. When you create a server it will automatically register with our master server. Clicking on "Server browser" will show you all the servers that are registered with our master server at that particular moment. For each server it will show you its name, latency, the current game mode and the map that is currently being used. Just click on one and you'll be instantly connected to it.
