Being featured on the front page of the Apple® Mac App Store was pretty huge, there’s no denying that. We’ve had more downloads in a few days than we’ve had since the game’s official release about a month ago.
Marble Arena 2 is currently the #1 free game in the Mac App Store and we would really like to say: Thank you !!!
Thank you to everyone who’s downloaded and played the game, and who have taken the time to write reviews. Thanks to those who have written favorable reviews for the kind words and thanks to those who have written not so favorable ones for taking the time to let us know what they didn’t like (we’ll do our best to make you change your minds).
To show that we really mean it, here is a sign of our gratitude:
22 extra levels in the form of the Oldies but Goldies map pack.
Should bring back memories for Marble Arena 1 players out there, and a few extra hours of game time to those who have already mastered the game.
Now for a few words on what to do with these.
1. Download the pack from here.
2. From the game launcher open up the game’s data folder. On Windows and Linux you do that by going to “Configure Game” and then clicking on “View game files”. On Mac you simply click on “Show user game files”.
3. Navigate to the packages/base folder. If it doesn’t exist, create it.
4. Unpack the archive there
5. Start the game and select “Play another level”. You should now see a new tab called “Oldies_but_Goldies”
6. Select a level, any level since they’re all unlocked.
7. Enjoy !
8. Completely optional: save a replay and post it on the website
9. Mac users only and also completely optional: spread the word among your PC using friends
If you’re having any kind of problems getting this to work, don’t be afraid to let us know, either by leaving a comment here, or by going to the Welcome and Help section of our forum.

I tried doing this, but i never got any new tab saying “oldies but goldies”. I am not sure if i have done anything wrong, but the problem is that the explanation isn’t crystal clear, like I’m not sure if launcher refers to launchpad or finder in mac. Also, i unpacked the file in each game data packages section, still nothing. Should i copy the package into both of them??? Thanks. I am a regular player. Also, i think that the level *twist and turns mike break my bones* is a little bit hard, i can’t seem to find a correct way around the level because there are starts all around the place and it seems difficult to find a good path as there are big jumps and lots of gravity moves.
Hi Flapster,
I apologize for not making the explanation clear enough. What i meant by launcher was the game launcher itself.
When you start the game from the launchpad or from finder, a window opens up. This is the launcher i was talking about. In this window you can select the screen resolution, shader details and a few other settings. There’s also a section that allows you to host your own multiplayer server.
In the graphics settings section there’s a button called “Show user game files”, next to the “Play” button. That’s the button you need to click. It will open up a finder window with the contents of the game’s data folder.
It should contain a subfolder called packages, and that one should have a subfolder called base.
If this structure does not exist you’ll need to create it yourself.
After that, just unpack the archive in there. There should now be a Oldies_but_Goldies folder inside your packages/base folder.
Hope this clears things up, if not, don’t hesitate to say so.
what do you mean by ‘unpack’ the archive?
By unpack i mean extract the contents of the archive. On a mac you do that by simply double clicking on the archive. Its contents will automatically be placed in the same folder as the archive itself.
Hope this helps.
Thanks the clearing up that you did earlier really helped. I was really looking forward to playing the map pack and now I can. Really appreciate it.
I cannot get this to work. How do you make the marble move? Just getting started with this new computer and not very savvy so anything you can do to help would be great. I think there should be some instructions with these games.
While in the game, press F1 to see information about the keys you can use. You can also find info about that on the website, here:
